On October 17, 2009, I was honored to be crowned the new "Miss Roanoke Valley," a preliminary of the Miss Virginia Organization and the Miss America Organization. Not only was I awarded wonderful scholarships towards my educational journey, I was also given another opportunity to promote this outstanding program and continue my volunteer work in my own community.
Throughout the next year, I will be serving the Roanoke Valley as well as promoting my platform "Character COUNTS," the Miss America platfrom "Children's Miracle Network," and the Miss Virginia Organization. I will be traveling to elementary, middle, and high schools as well as working with other organizations to spead the message of good Character and the importance of volunteering.
